Based on the value of face-to-face contact, Trotwood's Development Specialists:
- Assist local businesses to expand their facilities and create more jobs
- Conduct over 50 annual retention and expansion visits to local businesses
- Provide local businesses with economic expertise
- Use Montgomery County's award-winning Business First software tracking program
Recent Retention and Expansion success stories include J.W. Devers & Son, Inc. In looking for a way to expand this 110-year old business located in Olde Town, Devers President Jerry Haupt turned to Trotwood. Through its collaborative efforts with its Business First resource partner CountyCorp, the city:
- Assisted Devers in obtaining $450,000 grant
- Facilitated their purchase of former Trotwood fire station
- Helped Devers redevelop historic structure into their Mobility Division operations
- Helped them create 2 new jobs and retain 19
