Trotwood Beautification Contest

DO YOU KNOW A PROPERTY WITH LOTS OF CURB APPEAL? THE CITY OF TROTWOOD WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT IT!

Trotwood's Community Beautification Contest program recognizes community members and businesses who make Trotwood an even nicer place to live by creating and maintaining beautiful landscaping.

WHO CAN ENTER?

The Community Beautification Contest is open to all Trotwood home and business owners. Properties entering competition must be in Trotwood and comply with the City's Code of Ordinances. Home or business owners may apply on their behalf or nominate another property they consider beautiful. Nominee must formally accept nomination made by another. By self- nominating or by accepting a nomination, you grant the City of Trotwood the right to publicly use your name, address and photographs of your property. Applications must be received by 7 August 2021.

JUDGING

The Community Beautification Contest program is administered by Trotwood's Park & Recreation Advisory Board. Five residential properties will be selected, the judges will select the first, second and third place winners. Three businesses will be selected, the judges will select the first, second and third place winners. Judging begins in July and ends in August. The Board will evaluate properties, determine the winners and notify by 30 September.

WINNING PROPERTIES

All Contest winners will be honored at the October City Council Meeting.

First place residential/business winner will be presented a Certificate of Recognition, $200 and a Beautification Contest yard/lawn sign for placement on their property

2nd place residential/business winners will be presented a Certificate of Recognition $150

3rd place winners will be presented a Certificate of Recognition, $100.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION & REQUIREMENTS

  • Properties must be in good repair with no obvious signs of neglect or property maintenance violations; must not have any outstanding violations.
  • No litter; clean outside exterior
  • Shrubs and trees must be properly pruned
  • Lawns should be green, cut and edged
  • Lawns, flowerbeds and stone-trimmed landscape areas shall be free of weeds
  • Flowers are desirable but not essential. Flowers, however, tip the scale between two otherwise equal property considerations

IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE INCLUDE BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT WITH THE COMPLETED APPLICATION.
