31st Annual National Rebuilding Day – Saturday, April 25
Rebuilding Together Dayton will mobilize volunteers on April 25 to help low-income older homeowners safely age in place—delivering critical repairs and accessibility modifications to 10 homes in Trotwood and Jefferson Township, marking the 600th home completed through National Rebuilding Day.
Work will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with participating homes clearly marked.
In addition to residential projects, volunteers will enhance a community garden at 1615 Kimmel Road in Jefferson Township.
The University of Dayton football team will support multiple sites, assisting with fence installation, yard work, and basement cleanouts.
“We work year-round throughout the county to help older homeowners stay safe in their homes, but completing our 600th National Rebuilding Day project in Trotwood and Jefferson Township is a milestone worth celebrating,” said Amy Radachi, President/CEO and founder.
Interviews with selected homeowners and volunteers can be arranged through the media contact listed above.
Project Sites:
3554 El Paso Ave. (House Captain: Greg Freeman, Booz Allen Hamilton) Booz Allen volunteers will complete electrical repairs, install exterior security lighting, and add a handrail. The homeowner, Yolander, has lived in her home for 33 years.
4101 Redonda Lane (House Captain: Chris Besecker, Shook) Shook volunteers will repair drywall, perform yard work, and install handrails for Yuvette, a 32-year resident.
