Maintenance Technician

The City of Trotwood is establishing a Civil Service eligibility list to hire Maintenance Technicians for the Public Works Department. The Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance and repair of City streets, parks, equipment, infrastructure and facilities to meet operational and safety standards. Ideal candidates must have experience performing general maintenance and/or semi-skilled tasks – using hand and power tools, excellent sense of detail and a can-do attitude. Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or G.E.D.
- Must possess 2+ years’ experience in the public sector (Service Dept.; Public Works, etc.) or private sector (construction, equipment operator, etc.)
- Experience in operating heavy equipment
- Must possess physical ability to perform the tasks associated with the position
- Must work outside in extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to regularly lift 80+ pounds
Driving Requirements
- Must meet insurability guidelines
- Must possess and maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
- Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio Class B CDL or ability to obtain it within 6 months of hire

Pay Range
$22.28 – $32.49 per hour
