CITY OF TROTWOOD CREATES INNOVATIVE PARTNERSHIP WITH YMCA FOR IMPROVED PARKS AND RECREATION EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

The City of Trotwood has embarked upon an innovative partnership with the YMCA Neighborhood Development Center for the development and administration of all recreational activities and events for the City of Trotwood. This partnership will bring the leadership and resources needed for improved events and focused activities, especially to resident youth and senior citizens. The YMCA will be working closely with the 5 member Trotwood Parks Board, which includes Marvalene Raglin, Cynthia Monie, Dave Szkudlarek, Milton Pearson, Shawn Tucker and Advisory members Councilpersons Barbara Staggs and Bettye Gales. There will be a YMCA Program Manager in place in June, 2014, who will act as a liaison for the City and the YMCA and will carry out the planning and administration of our events.

A 2014 Calendar of Events for the City of Trotwood is posted on the City’s website at www.trotwood.org , with more events to be included throughout the program year. The maintenance and improvements to our City Parks is now performed by the Public Works Department under the supervision of Public Works Operations Manager Dalton Hines. There are several new features that are planned this year, including improvements to John Wolfe Park.

For more information, please contact Public Safety Director/Deputy City Manager Quincy E. Pope, Sr. at (937) 854-7227 or by email at kbailey@trotwood.org .
