This distinction will serve as a tribute to the remarkable bravery and ultimate sacrifice of service members while defending the freedoms enjoyed by all of us,” said Trotwood Mayor Yvette F. Page.

The Purple Heart is America’s oldest military decoration dating back to the Revolutionary War when it was originally established by General George Washington. The honor is reserved for those who have displayed remarkable bravery and sacrifice in service to their nation.
