“The City of Trotwood is aware of the excessive rain fall and flash flooding caused by the strong storms and tornadic activity throughout the region and Trotwood this past weekend. Our storm water systems are flowing and operating properly, but took on record breaking amounts of rain in low lying areas. Therefore, this has caused certain areas to overflow with excessive water infiltration and inundation. We have dispatched public works personnel to the affected areas to investigate how capacity of watercourses can be mitigated. We also encourage everyone to check your homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policies to find out if you have coverage or how to get flood insurance if you don’t have the coverage.”
