Due to recent amendments to Section 351.14 of the Trotwood Codes of Ordinances, except for the purpose of actively loading and unloading, no truck, trailer, or camping trailer shall park on the streets of the City. Such vehicles parked on the streets of the City shall be subject to impoundment. Panel trucks or pick-up trucks, three-quarter-tons or less, are excluded from the prohibition. This amendment will provide for the safety of the public on the City’s roadways by eliminating such traffic hazards.

Further, no truck, trailer, or camping trailer shall be parked on property that is not commercially zoned as a semi-truck or other commercial vehicle parking terminal. Such vehicles parked on property that is not commercially zoned as semi-truck or other commercial parking terminal shall be subject to impoundment. Parking on property not designated for larger vehicles may cause damage to the surface area and increase the risk of criminal activity.

In an attempt to gain voluntary compliance with this section of the Trotwood Codes of Ordinances, signs will be erected near the City’s entryways and a 60-day warning period from the date of this release will be granted.

After the 60-day grace period, vehicles in violation of Section 351.14 of the Trotwood Codes of Ordinances will be towed at the owner’s expense. Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor and subject to a mandatory fine of $150.00. Subsequent violations may constitute greater penalties.
