THE HONORABLE MAYOR, MARY A. MCDONALD ISSUES A STATE OF EMERGENCY IN THE CITY OF TROTWOOD

[TROTWOOD, Ohio] Mayor, Mary A. McDonald declared a local state of emergency in the City of Trotwood due to the severe thunder storms, high winds, and property damage citizens experienced throughout the City of Trotwood the evening of Monday, May 27, 2019. Severe weather alerts began in the city around 8:30pm progressing to tornado warnings, watches and alerts throughout the evening.
City officials are working with various agencies including: the Red Cross; Trotwood Madison Schools; First Responders from federal, state and local agencies; Ohio Task Force One; Hamilton County Urban Search And Rescue; Ohio State Patrol; Region 3 Strike Team; and the National Weather Service to ensure the safety of Trotwood citizens. Door to door searches for residents are being conducted, currently.
At this time, the Mayor urges citizens to remain in a safe location. If your home is not safe, please evacuate. The Red Cross has identified Corinthian Baptist Church located at 700 S. James H. McGee Blvd. as a shelter. Citizens may call the Red Cross at 937-222-6711 or the City of Trotwood at 937-837-7210 for assistance.
