“Local Radio DJ Moves Into Firehouse for 6th Annual Holiday Help Out Food Drive”

Ciara Lewis Community News

92.1 WROU and Hot 102.9 are excited to continue its long tradition of community involvement with the 6th Annual “Holiday Help Out” Food Drive taking place November 19 – 21, 2021 at Trotwood Fire and Rescue Station 72, located at 5469 Little Richmond Road, Trotwood, Ohio. This Community event happens through a partnership with the City of Trotwood and The Good Neighbor House. With so many families being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic this year, the need for holiday food donations from the community is greater than ever.

For the 6th year, WROU Program Director and on-air personality Faith Daniels will actually move into Trotwood Fire and Rescue Station 72 and broadcast live around the clock beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, 2021 for the entire weekend, while collecting donations of nonperishable food items and personal care products, as well as gloves and hats. Alpha Media Sister station Hot 102.9’s Kev Nash and 1410 ESPN’s Justin Kinner will join the live broadcast each day during the food drive.

Miami Valley families are food insecure and need food pantries to survive during the holiday season. The food donations will provide a holiday meal for needy families and will replenish the nine pantries of The Good Neighbor House, helping to support families that will need help even after the holiday season, as well as frontline health care workers. All donations can be made safely without leaving the comfort of the vehicle.

“The annual food drive is always important, but this year it is more important than ever! This is only possible with the help of the community and our partners, the City of Trotwood, Mayor Mary McDonald, Fire Chief Rick Haacke, Attorney Blake R. Maislin, and our loyal listeners and supporters,” said Faith Daniels.

Alpha Media Market Manager Keith Wright said, “We are so grateful each year for the generosity of the local Dayton community and Faith Daniels’ tireless efforts to spearhead the Holiday Help Out. It means so much to be able to help those in need.”
