The Family Reunion weekend is scheduled to take place in the City of Trotwood, Ohio from September 29th through 30th, 2018. The events included in this special weekend will include a parade, BBQ contest, and an interfaith song festival.
One of the events will feature a parade on Saturday, September 29th at 10:00 am. The parade will take place from the staging area at the Foodtown Shopping Center on Main Street, traveling west on Main Street to Broadway Blvd., and south on Broadway Blvd. to Madison Park. The parade will include Mayor Mary McDonald as the Grand Marshal, Trotwood Fire and Rescue vehicles, Trotwood Police Department vehicles, Public Works equipment and vehicles, local celebrities and elected officials, decorated vehicles and bicycles, classic cars, motorcycles, music and horses. “This year’s parade promises to be even more spectacular than last year’s parade. Everyone that I have spoken to about the parade is excited about it and the Family Reunion Weekend festivities,” Mayor Mary A. McDonald stated.
The 9th Annual Trotwood-Wolfcreek Smoke, Sizzle and Sounds BBQ Contest will also take place on Saturday, September 29th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, with cash prizes for chicken and pork ribs. This event will take place at Madison Park, 301 S. Broadway Street, Trotwood, Ohio. First place winners will go home with $500, second place wins $250 and third place takes home $175.
