Trotwood Fire and Rescue strives to employ the best practices in fire safety and emergency medical services and to continually improve all aspects of service to the community.
Trotwood Fire & Rescue is pursuing initial Accreditation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE). Accreditation is a continuous quality improvement process based on community risk analysis and agency self-assessment that promotes the establishment of community-adopted performance goals and verification through third-party peer review. This process encompasses the full span of fire and emergency service operations. Working towards, achieving, and maintaining accreditation:
- Provides greater community alignment
- Encourages quality improvement
- Identifies areas of strengths and weaknesses
- Allows for the establishment of a plan for improvement
- Provides data-supported decision making
- Ensures the department has a defined mission and related objectives
- Facilitates input from and builds positive relationships with labor
- Communicates management and leadership philosophies
