CITY COUNCIL APPOINTS MILTON J. PEARSON TO FILL WARD 3 VACANCY

During a Special Meeting held last night, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the Trotwood City Council voted to appoint Milton J. Pearson to fill the Ward 3 Council Member vacancy.

Mr. Pearson earned his Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Adolescent Psychology from Fort Valley State University in 1987. He has worked in public service for most of his career and previously served as the Chair of the City’s Parks and Recreation Board. Currently, Mr. Pearson works as a Family Specialist with Trotwood-Madison City Schools.

“Councilman Pearson’s extensive experience in working with people to improve their environment has prepared him for this role. His dedication to promoting positive relationships will be a huge asset to our residents,” said Trotwood Mayor Yvette F. Page.

Mr. Charles “Ron” Vaughn resigned from his position as the Ward 3 Council Member effective December 31, 2024, creating the Ward 3 vacancy. Councilman Pearson will serve the remainder of the unexpired term, ending December 31, 2025. His Oath of Office will be administered prior to the Regular City Council Meeting scheduled on Monday, February 3, 2025.

“We are excited to have Councilman Pearson join the Trotwood City Council. His vast knowledge and experience will be a huge asset as we continue to grow and move our city forward,” said City Manager Quincy E. Pope, Sr.
