The City of Trotwood Becomes a Purple Heart City 💜🇺🇸
Trotwood joins the nationwide network of Purple Heart Cities, signifying a commitment to honoring veterans who have been wounded or killed while serving in the United States military. “The City of Trotwood is honored to be designated a Purple Heart City. This distinction will serve as a tribute to the remarkable bravery and ultimate sacrifice of service members while defending the freedoms enjoyed by all of us,” said Trotwood Mayor Yvette F. Page.
The Purple Heart is America’s oldest military decoration dating back to the Revolutionary War when it was originally established by General George Washington. The honor is reserved for those who have displayed remarkable bravery and sacrifice in service to their nation.
Thank you to the women and men of our nation’s military for your courage, commitment, and selfless sacrifices. This country is the Land of the Free because of you.
