The City of Trotwood has embarked upon an innovative partnership with the YMCA for the development and administration of all recreational activities and events for the City of Trotwood. This partnership will bring the leadership and resources needed for improved events and focused activities, especially to our youth and senior citizens. The YMCA, working closely with our 5-member Parks and Recreation Board, which includes LaJuana Curington, Steven Champion, Lynn Thomasson, Sharron Williams and Norman Scearce, as well as Council Representative Mayor Mary McDonald, who serve as an Advisory Member.

Leading this initiative is Program Manager Shawn Tucker, who will coordinate the Parks and Recreation Department activities and events. Mr. Tucker has a wealth of experience and skills which are assets to the City of Trotwood-YMCA Parks and Recreation Department. In this role, he also works closely with the Trotwood Parks and Recreation Board and is assisted by City Administrator, Kelly Adams.

2017 DAYTON METRO YOUTH BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Trotwood Elementary Basketball 5th Grade Rams are the 2017 Champions of the Division 3, Dayton Metro Youth Basketball League.  The Rams finished the regular season with a record of 11-1 and entered the tournament as the 1st Place seed.  "Kode Red", as their supporters call them, battled through the 5 day, 28 game tournament and ended with a tough victory (35-32) over the Defending Champions, Eaton White.

Beginning Each Friday In April

In efforts to support our students in their pursuit for academic success, and also giving parents a break, there will be, invitation only, parties for grades 4th - 6th, hosted at the Community Park Pavilion.  301 S. Broadway.  Students must receive 1 of 50 tickets per event, from their teacher or a program facilitator.  RSVP must be received by Parks & Recreation Department, no later than the 4pm the day of the event. The event is free and all attendees must be on the guest list.

YOUTH TALENT SHOWCASE
May 2017

Come out to support our youth as they display and develop their gifts and talents.  Students from Trotwood and surrounding areas will showcase performing arts presentations in various categories, which include musical selections, dancing, singing, rapping, spoken word and much more.  Students and local artists will also have the opportunity to showcase their artwork in the lobby. 

Maintenance & Improvements
The maintenance and improvements to our city parks are performed by the Public Works Department. To reserve a park shelter or the Pavilion at Madison Park, contact the Public Works Department at 937/837-1702 or visit them at 2400 Olive Road, Trotwood, Ohio 45426.

Permits are required for garage sales and/or to participate in the annual Citywide Garage Sale.  Additionally, applications are required to reserve a park shelter or the Pavilion at Madison Park.  To access any of these forms, click on Permits on the left sidebar of this page.
